It made 24 cupcake size cakes. I made one pan using cupcake liners and one pan without the liners. I sprayed both lightly with Pam Baking spray.
The cakes came out tasting wonderful. I baked the lined cakes for 20 minutes which was too long and the unlined for 18 minutes. The cakes without liners were more difficult to get out of the pans and did collapse when handled too much.
I plan on making this recipe again but in the springform pan and just as soon as I buy some better chocolate.
I only had Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate chips and semi-sweet chips. Waned to let you know I made this for a party this weekend and it was wildly praised by all!
I will be keeping this recipe to make again! How many servings is this cake? Looks delicious, I want to make it for my birthday and serve with vanilla ice cream and some berries!
Happy birthday Sarah! Really good chocolate cake! Added 2 tbsp. For my taste, it came out perfectly sweet with a light hint of almonds I also ground them and yes, very chocolatey!
I would serve it with a raw raspberry sauce. Will make again, for sure! Looks great! Is it possible to substitute all or some of the eggs in this recipe to cater for guest with an intolerance to eggs?

Made this today. I was a bit concerned that the chocolate mix seemed a bit gloopy and lumpy but at the third addition of the egg whites it looked just right and the end result was fabulous!!

I saw a recipe for something that was in German but I could tell it was a torte. The center looked Goodyear than this one and it seemed to be higher.

Start Here. Sign Me Up! Recipe From: Leigh Anne Wilkes. Prep: 10 minutes. Cook: 35 minutes. Total: 45 minutes. Instructions In mixing bowl beat butter for 2 minutes until creamy.
Line bottom of 9 inch springform pan with parchment paper trace around the pan onto parchment and cut out circle Lightly spray the pan. Pour batter into prepared pan and sprinkle with almonds and 1 Tbsp sugar mixed together.
Sprinkle with sugar and almond mixture and bake at for 35 minutes and then cover with foil and bake more minutes so that center is set. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Although, I toasted the whole Almond pieces left for the top of the cake. This one is soo good. I didnt use blanced almonds nor confec sugar.
But it came out perfectly I loved it The hardest part is finding the sliced blanched almonds everything has skin on it , but I've made this at least a dozen times and it still gets raves from everyone and requests for the recipe.
That's great - what could have been a mistake turned out even better - kudos to you. I thought it would be a mess, but we loved it.
It turned out more moist and marzipan like in the center.
